Sonya & Patterson Voss
Mitchell’s parents, they have played an important part in the band’s history. ShapeShifter’s first and most die-hard boosters, Sonya and Patterson serve as a surrogate parent for the entire band, not just Trevor. They throw dinners before the guys leave for tour. Send care packages to meet them at hotel front desks. Whatever the guys need, they do their best to provide, within reason.
Sonya had always wanted four children, but finances and all else got in the way. So when first Amy and then Mitchell started bringing around this Trevor Wolff child, Sonya took right to him. Mothered him — and he let her. And when things happened with Trevor’s father at home, Patterson liked the boy enough to stand up for him, vouch for him, and take him into the house.
Patterson, Mitchell’s father, is a descendant of the Voss family who founded Riverview. Each generation of Voss men has chosen a different way to leave their mark on the city of Riverview, and Patterson’s path of choice was to enter public service, in the form of the government. What he does, no one’s entirely certain, but it seems to have something to do with illegal aliens and corruption.
