Val Huong

Val met Daniel when they were both fourteen, and have been together ever since. While he was busy with ShapeShifter, she went her own way, attending the Riverview Culinary Academy and working as a chef. She quit not long after the band’s Freaks of The Road Tour, the tour supporting their Freaks of Evolution album.

Their relationship is hard for many people to accept. They have an arrangement, as it’s often referred to: so long as Daniel doesn’t make a lasting relationship, he can dabble with women on the road. Because Val doesn’t particularly like touring, she doesn’t feel that she can fairly ask Daniel to be totally faithful — although she is to him.

The daughter of a half-Chinese man and an American woman, Val’s had to struggle with many of the same issues of identity that plague anyone with strong, dual backgrounds. Maybe that’s where her love of gossip comes from; no one’s really sure. It’s definitely where she gets her tongue-lashing ability. As for her love of flashy clothes and shoes? Isn’t that a woman’s job?
