Thursday Thirteen: Whee!

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

1. I’m not a big fan of computer games. I should be writing, not playing games.
2. The Tour Manager plays fantasy stuff on his desktop. We don’t need a console.
3. Then I heard about the Wii Fit. It’d be good for my bad hips.
4. Next came the promise of being able to fly like Shaun White.
5. Around Hanukkah last December, the Wii showed up. So did the Fit.
6. Proving why he’s the Tour Manager, we’d gotten a hell of a deal on it. (Can you see Fit for Free? I sure can!)
7. Then the announcement: Guitar Hero: Metallica. For the Wii.
8. I figured… I suck at making music. I can hear something and tell if it’ll be a hit (or I used to do that, anyway, back in my radio days). But to make it? FAIL. Massive failure.
9. But still…
10. Guess what showed up on my front porch this morning?
11. Guitar Hero: World Tour
12. I had to set it up before the Opening Acts got home from school. You know, to make sure it works right.
13. What do you think? In an alternate fictional reality, are people anxiously awaiting Guitar Hero: ShapeShifter???

Be sure to see what other people are Thirteening about this week. Me, I’m going to pretend I’m Mitchell Voss… or, rather, watch the Tour Manager and the Opening Acts show me how it’s done.

I hear if you stand on the floor thing for the Wii that it will tell everyone in the room how much you weigh. Isnt that nice? Happy TT my friend:)

We here are addicted to Guitar Hero: World Tour. I am the drummer, Jim is the guitarist. We’re only on medium difficulty, but it’s so much fun! The Wii Fit was a hit for a while, but we got lazy. 🙂

The Wii Fit scares me because there is a balance board.
My kids make fun of me enough as it is. Yet I still want to try it. I may look like a fool but I rock out and dance out to Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revolution. So I say “Get your groove on Girl”!

Funny, when I first heard over holidays that the next Guitar Hero was going to be Metallica, you were the first person I thought of. My kids got Word Tour but I haven’t played it. I took the Wii away from them. I like Wii Fit but I haven’t had a whole lot of time to play with it.

I gotta say all this WII Whatever stuff is totally lost on me. Same goes for Guitar Hero, I just don’t get it. Then again, my musicality is limited to listening to music, so I really never felt the need to pick up a guitar, much less one made of plastic, and start jumping around looking like … well, whatever. LOL

I am already obsessed with my lap top, photography and blogging. A Wii sounds like pure danger for me…I might get totally lost in it. And the thought of standing on a Wii mat and the whole room knowing what you weigh is a fearsome thing indeed. Happy TT. 🙂

I have not tried the Wii, but I know some friends who are die hard and obsessed with it, I am afraid I may forget about hiking when I get one, so I pretend it does not exist 🙂 .

By the way, we will be in Moab on April 6 and 7, sadly, it will be a short stay there since we will move to Capitol Reef, Bryce and Zion the following days since we will tour my niece to the Grand Circle (not all, only a partial of the cirlce.

No Wiis or Wii Fits in my house, but my daughter’s friend across the cul-de-sac apparently has Guitar Hero because my daughter – she’s SIX, mind you – started singing along to No One Like You by the Scorpians in the car the other day…. 0.0 I about broke my neck whipping my head around in disbelief!

And you could always write video games. 😀 My hubby is a programmer so I’m toying with the idea of a roleplaying/adventure game.
